This member of the Mollusk family (also called Calamari) is related to both the Octopus and Cuttlefish, and has a firm, chewy texture with a mild and sweet flavor. Squid lends itself to several cooking methods including pan-frying, baking, or deep-frying. At the Mermaid Inn we like to lightly fry rings of Squid for Crispy Calamari or sauté it for our Spaghetti with a Salad on Top.
